MEDICAL TATTOOING

Scar Camouflage

Scar camouflage tattooing can be performed on all scars including stretch marks & self harm scarring, with the exception of keloid scars. These niche treatments are performed by Jess, who takes appointments at the studio & is extremely experienced & knowedgable in medical tattooing. 2-3 sessions are reccomended to gently layer the ink to achieve life changing results.

Classed as a permanent tattoo, inks used are stable & do not shift over years, however may fade slightly after 5-10 years. Scars must be fully healed before treatment, typically one year old.

Dark Circle Camouflage

Dark under eye circles can be brightened using medical tattooing, similar to scar camo, diluted stable inks are used to improve dark circles, & are gently layered in matching skin tone to achieve a natural looking improvement over 2 full sessions.

Lasting 5+ years this unique procedue is classed as permanent, however may fade slightly after this timeframe. This is a niche treatment performed by expert Jess who is an extremely talented artist & educator.

PRE-CARE

Medication

Do NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen for 72 hours prior to your procedure. Paracetamol is fine. Do not discontinue necessary medications without consulting your Dr first.

Accutane - You have to be off Accutane for 3 months.

Exercise and Lifestyle

Do not work out the day of the procedure as the body heat expands the pores.

Do not have tan or sunburn on the area to be treated prior to your procedure. The tan will exfoliate taking colour with it as it fades. If you attend your appointment with sunburn, you will be required to reschedule and your deposit will be forfeited.

Do not have any chemical peels, microdermabrasions, mesotherapy, or any other intense treatments
which will cause faster skin cell rejuvenating and cause skin irritation 3- 4 weeks before procedure.

Skin Creams

You MUST cease the use of Retin-A or Retinols for 14 days prior to your treatment avoid using on or around the area for a further 30 days post treatment. If used before 30 days, it can cause the pigments to fade prematurely. If you resume the Retin-A or Retinols after the 30 days, please be aware that the continued use on the area will fade your permanent makeup prematurely.

Botox /Filler injections

If you use BOTOX/FILLER in the forehead or temple area, it should
be performed either 2 weeks prior to your scheduled procedure or wait
until after your procedure.

Food and Drink

Avoid alcohol and coffee/energising drinks for at least 24 hours prior to the procedure, as they make it more likely for you to bleed
whilst getting Microblading done which will affect your treatment negatively.

Menstrual Cycle

Schedule your treatment so that you are not on your menstrual cycle if possible. Getting a treatment while on your menstrual cycle can make you hyper-sensitive at the site being treated.

Skin Blemishes

If there are any blemishes, pimples, active cold sores, irritation of the skin of any kind, moles or other skin imperfections in or around the area of the procedure, please inform us prior to the appointment.

Important information to consider

The healing process will take a number of days to complete, depending on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates and your cell turnover rate. So please do not plan any very important events during the healing time.

MRI Scans

This procedure shows as an artifact on the scan. Some clients may experience a tingling sensation. Please notify your radiologist of your treatment.

Giving blood

The Red Cross have suggested that you do not give blood for 6 months after treatment.

Please inform your practitioner if you plan to go on any sun/water holidays following your procedure, so bookings can be made at appropriate timescales and advice given.

AFTERCARE

The day of the treatment.

Gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb any excess lymph fluid. (Lymph is a clear fluid-like substance that might slightly ooze from the area.)You may or may not have any during this time. But if you do, we want to avoid letting it dry on the area and form a crust
Removing this fluid will prevent any hardening/crusting of the lymph.

Wash

Once you return home, clean twice per day with cooled boiled water or saline. You
will do this outside of the shower, everyday for 7 days. Very gently pat dry with kitchen roll.

Keep the area clean and dry, avoid excess moisture such as creams, oil, sweat etc.

DO NOT use any other cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any
exfoliants. ONLY what is recommended.

Important Reminders

Use a fresh pillow case, and try not sleep on your face.

Let any flaky dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring and will cause loss of color. Your flakes will gently fall off by themselves when they are ready to.

No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks after treatment

Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for at least one week. You can lightly exercise, but nothing that will cause overexertion or extreme sweating whatsoever.

Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 2 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors. And once fully healed, be sure to protect your eyebrow with SPF. Any prolonged sun exposure will cause premature fading.

Avoid taking long hot showers for the first 10 days. And when in the shower, avoid water completely on the area.

Avoid swimming, or any kind of water/steam based activity until you have completely healed.

Avoid applying any type of makeup to your area.

Keep your hands off of the area. No picking or scratching the treated area.

Important Note About Showering:

You will want to limit the time you spend in the shower. Avoid using very hot water and creating steam.
